Veronica Plantus, Counseling Intern
Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (In Progress)
Oakland University
I support clients through anxiety, transitions, and relationship difficulties, helping them find balance and resilience in their daily lives. I incorporate mindfulness practices, CBT, and creative techniques - such as journaling, expressive exercises, and other experiential activities - to help clients process emotions, gain insight, and develop healthy coping skills. I am committed to providing a compassionate and collaborative environment where clients can explore challenges and build personal empowerment.
While I am still in training, I engage in ongoing supervision and professional development to ensure ethical, evidence-based, and effective care. I am committed to helping individuals address a variety of concerns:
Anxiety
Depression
Self-Esteem Challenges
Addiction
Life Transitions
Grief
Outside of the counseling room, I enjoy journaling, painting, spending time in nature, and practicing yoga and meditation—activities that help me stay present and aligned with the values I bring into my work.
My approach to counseling is rooted in empathy, respect, and non-judgment. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to share their stories.
I believe everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality mental health care, and I am honored to be part of the team at Stories Unfold as I continue my journey in the counseling profession.
I work primarily from a cognitive-behavioral framework and frequently integrate mindfulness-based techniques to help clients stay grounded and build emotional resilience. However, I believe in the importance of an integrative approach to counseling, especially when working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
I am passionate about tailoring therapeutic strategies to meet each client’s unique needs and goals, and I would be honored to support you.
